Two Sides of a €2 Coin

Every Slovenian €2 coin has a national side and a common European side. The national side features a motif chosen by Slovenia. The common value side, showing a map of Europe, is essentially the same throughout the euro area.

National Side

The national side features a motif chosen by Slovenia. €2 commemorative coins are redesigned for special events, anniversaries or notable personalities. Twelve European stars appear around the edge, together with the issuing country name “SLOVENIJA”.

European Side

The common side shows Europe or the European Union and symbolises European unity. It was designed by Luc Luycx of the Royal Belgian Mint and is essentially the same for each denomination throughout the euro area.
